Columbia Carolina operates under Certificate of Coverage Number NCG210136. Samples were collected on 9/6/2022, and analytical results were received 9/21/2022. Outfall #8 was above benchmarks for COD. A stormwater inspection was conducted within two weeks and identified the detention basins in the drainage ditch leading up to Outfall #8 had been filled in with rocks and debris. As a result, stormwater is no longer collecting in the detention basins, which allow solids to settle out, as originally designed. This inspection was followed by a Tier I Response Form and appropriate Corrective Actions, including cleaning or reinstalling the detention basins in the drainage ditch leading to Outfall #8. Outfall #8 has entered Tier Three with separate correspondence sent to the Regional Engineer at Energy,Mineral, and Land Resources.
