Field Review of previously documented GPS Coordinates for Start Point 1 for
Stream Feature B

DWR issued a Buffer Determination Letter to Sound Timber Management LLC on January 6, 2021. The
letter identified two portions of Feature B which were subject to the Neuse River Buffer Rules. It was
brought to the Division's attention that there appeared to be an error in the coordinates listed for Stop
Point 1 of Feature B in the Buffer Determination Letter. The purpose of the site visit was to ensure that
all parties were clear on what portion of Feature B was determined to be subject to the Neuse River
Buffer Rules by DWR during the site visit conducted on December 23, 2020.
The attendees walked to the US Army Corps of Engineers Jurisdictional Determination start point of
Feature B. The attendees then walked upstream to the start point 1 of the Neuse Buffer subjectivity as
previously identified by DWR staff. Although there was an error in GPS coordinates for the stop point 1
of Feature B in the January 6, 2021 DWR buffer determination letter, the site visit confirmed that the
coordinates for start point 1 of Feature B was accurately identified in DWR January 6, 2021 buffer
determination letter.
