Replace Bridge No. 430169 on Sonoma Road (S.R.
1876) over W. Fork Pigeon River and Bridge No.
430170 on Max Thompson Road (S.R. 1105) over E.
Fork Pigeon Rover in Haywood County, NC.
Thompson Gordon Shook Engineers, Inc., d/b/a TGS Engineers, has been retained by
the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Highway Division 14 to
provide comprehensive professional engineering and environmental services for the
subject project. Included as part of these services, TGS Engineers will comp lete an
environmental document prepared in accordance with the National Environmental
Policy Act.
This project proposes to replace Bridge No. 430169 on Sonoma Road (S.R. 1876)
over W. Fork Pigeon Ford River and Bridge No. 430170 on Max Thompson Road (S.R.
1105) over E. Fork Pigeon River in Haywood County, NC.
We would appreciate any information you might have that would be helpful in
evaluating potential environmental impacts for this project. Please respond by May
3, 2023, so that your comments can be used in the development of this project.
Copies of the Vicinity Map (Fig. 1), Study Area Map (Fig. 2), and USGS Topographic
Map (Fig. 3) are attached for your use.
