The City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department ( CORPUD) is currently under construction with the Aversboro Parallel Force Main and Pump Station project in Garner, NC. It has come to our attention that the upstream end of the 60 inch CMP drainage pipe under Buffaloe Road (Sta. 27 +40) is crushed possibly due to a fallen tree. This situation makes the current plan of installing the 24 inch force main under the end of the drainage pipe impractical. The approved permit for this project is referenced above. The Town of Garner has approved plans to install a sidewalk and drainage project immediately after our construction in this same location. Their plans call for removal of 12 feet and an extension of approximately 25 feet of the existing 60 inch culvert at the same end of the pipe as our construction. Their approved permit for this project is referenced above. Due to the damaged pipe and Garner's project to remove and replace the pipe, CORPUD plans to install the force main just around the end of the crushed pipe. This change in work will not disturb any area that isn't covered by the approved Garner permit. Thank you for your time and cooperation in working with us in this situation. Please let me know if this is in agreement with our conversation or if you have any concerns. Kind Regards, Janeen Goodwin, P.E.
