Sue,

I have attached a copy of HF Lee’s annual water withdrawal report for 2022. I am still looking for drawings within
historical CP&L files. It is my understanding that the intake structure was constructed at the same time CP&L completed
construction of Unit #3 for the coal steam station and it was constructed in the location of former discharge
structure. The timeframe would have been in the 1960s. I have attached a drawing from 1960 that shows the location
of the former discharge structure.

Hey Dicky,

It was good to see you yesterday. I was reviewing the modification request for HF Lee and have some questions about
the intake that I thought maybe previous permitting would answer but I can’t find any file associated with this project
that talks about the Intake.

We don't see Duke's Lee Plant withdrawal registered on DWR's registration website:
https://www.ncwater.org/WUDC/app/WWATR/page

was the intake officially permitted at some point in time? If we can document that it would help. Since it
wasn’t on the registration that made me concerned that it’s old enough that maybe it was never authorized
via a 404/401 and/or registered as a withdrawal.
