Subject: Floating Dock Installation
PROJECT NAME: Waterside Subdivision, Lake Rhodhiss, Granite Falls
Dear Mr. Rawn:
In accordance with your application received on March 17, 2015, you are free to begin
installation of the five double boat slip floating dock. You are required to follow the
conditions listed below:
Please note that you should obtain or otherwise comply with any other federal, state or local
permits before proceeding with your project, including those required by (but not limited to)
Erosion and Sediment Control, Water Supply Watershed and Trout Buffer regulations.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS
1. The riparian area along the lakeshore appears to be well vegetated and intact. Please
make every effort to minimize the removal and disturbance of trees and shrubs. If
vegetation is disturbed, follow restoration guidelines contained in the attached EEP
Guidelines for Riparian Buffer Restoration.
2. The proposed project must comply with the Burke County local riparian buffer ordinance
approved by the Division of Water Resources under the Catawba River Basin: Protection
and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Buffers, 15A NCAC 02B .0243(b).
3. No boat or vessel refueling should be performed at the boat slip site. If property owners
wish to use the site for refueling, a containment area should be installed and a spill plan
must be developed. Contact the US Coast Guard for more information and regulations.
