I have updated the information in our BIMS system, and eDMR should update overnight. Since eDMR reports have already been submitted associated with this outfall structure, I can't remove them during this permit cycle. Instead I put monitoring suspensions on both 002 and 004 (had already been applied to 004 because of a previous ROS entry). I also just indicated that 002 and 004 were "Represented by 001" in our system and added a comment on the suspension notes. At permit renewal, the outfalls can be revised before future reports to remove 002 and 004, so please reach out to one of the Stormwater Staff if there isn't a prompt to review outfalls for the next permit period. I did a search in the eDMR system for this permit and did not find any submitted reports, but I wanted to check to make sure nothing had been prepared in the system yet— because it will cause problems if I remove an outfall with monitoring reports associated with it. Has anyone prepared anything in eDMR for this permit that includes outfall 002 or outfall 004, even if it has not been submitted? If so, those will need to be deleted and re-created after I remove the erroneous outfalls. If something has been submitted already (and I missed it), then I will just add a suspension on them. I just want to make sure. Thank you, Bethany Georgoulias (she/her) Environmental Engineer, Stormwater Program DEMLR Laserfiche Administrator Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources N.C. Outfall 001 receives all of the drainage from the former Outfalls 002 and 004, so those do not need to be monitored separately. Outfall 002A only receives drainage from non -industrial portions of the site so does not need to be monitored through the NPDES permit. First, if Outfall 002A is non -industrial, we don't want to add it to the system. If we do, we'll just have to put monitoring suspensions on it each permit cycle. If it's outside the scope of NPDES industrial stormwater, it doesn't need to be in eDMR. Second, outfall 004 is represented by 002 in our system from information we received from Charlotte previously. I just want to confirm that we are supposed to remove both of those outfalls and instead keep Outfall 001 (where they drain). So, I plan to revise Outfall 001 and Outfall 003 with this information, as well as remove 002 and 004. Correct? Good morning Bethany, During a recent stormwater program evaluation at the CATS Bus Maintenance Facility located at 3145 S. Tryon Street in Charlotte (Permit No. NCG080814), it was determined that some of the outfall sampling locations need to be modified. The attached map shows the proposed new outfall locations based on the ultimate discharge location from each identified drainage area. These outfall locations were determined by analysis of the subsurface piping features and observed overland flow at the facility. A summary of the changes from the previously identified outfalls is below: • Replace Outfalls 002 and 004 with newly defined Outfall 001: The discharge to the formerly identified Outfalls 002 and 004 is directed via existing subsurface piping to the newly defined Outfall 001 discharge point; the drainage areas formerly identified for Outfalls 002 and 004 are both part of the Outfall 001 drainage area. Therefore, Outfalls 002 and 004 no longer need to be monitored separately and can be removed from the permit. • Modify Outfall 003 coordinates to manhole MH17 location rather than MH18 location for easier sampling access: There is no change in stormwater discharge received by outfall. • Identify a new non -industrial Outfall 002A in the northwestern portion of the facility: This outfall is for drainage from the administrative buildings, portions of discharge from roof drains on the maintenance shop building, drainage from the area around the enclosed storage structure for the facility emergency generator fuel tank, and employee parking areas. The attached site map indicates the newly identified drainage areas, a table of the proposed new outfall coordinates, and areas of industrial activity at the facility. Please let me know if you have any questions.
