Hi Kim,
Thank you! I will add this to the Laserfiche folder as an update due to a typo on the map, but no changes to permi?ed
impacts or totals.
Thank you,

Hey Zach!
A ?ny change on these maps – Impact Area 5, Zone 2 Roadway Crossing. The impact table and your permi?ed impact =
4,228 SF, however, the callout within the map s?ll listed is as 4,326 SF. I confirmed with the engineer that 4,228 SF is
correct and had them update the map so that the callout matched. Addi?onally, the overall impact table on sheet E-3
was updated so that it matched the rest of the document. The revised map set is a?ached. This can replace the previous
as the final final. The 401 approval was also checked and confirmed as correct. Thanks again for all your help!
Please let me know if you have any ques?ons.
Thanks,
Kim

Good a?ernoon, Zach (and Chris H.)!
Please find the revised impact maps a?ached based on NCDWR comments. Details on the changes are below. Chris
Hopper – only the second bullet should apply to you as the first is in reference to riparian buffers. Please let me know if
you have any other ques?ons or require addi?onal informa?on. Since the revisions do not result in addi?onal
permanent stream, riparian buffer, and wetland impacts which would require mi?ga?on, the mi?ga?on plan as
originally proposed applies.

Thanks,
Kim
1. SCM#3 (page 9 of the updated impact maps) shows impacts for a greenway that has been placed on top of the
graded fill for an SCM. SCMs placed inside of Zone 1 of the buffer require mi?ga?on and there are currently no
totals listed for these impacts or mi?ga?on proposed. Please provide clarifica?on on this impact area.
o RESPONSE: SCM#3 on Impact Sheet E-9 (Map Loca?on Area 4), has been revised by incorpora?ng
steeper side slopes to avoid Zone 1 impacts to the riparian buffer. No Zone 1 impacts are proposed in
this area per the a?ached revised maps. Proposed Zone 2 impacts total 5,794 SF (0.1330 acre).
2. The new impact maps indicate temporary impacts to Wetland WA for riprap of 152 sq? and 106 sq?. Riprap is
considered a permanent – no loss impact for us and I will refer to it in my le?er under the permanent impacts
column. However, it is unclear if the impacts are for Wetland WA or Stream A when referring to the impact map
itself. Please provide clarifica?on on where exactly the riprap is proposed to be installed.
o RESPONSE: The rip rap impacts on Impact Sheet E-11 (Map Loca?on Area 5) have been revised to
indicate that riprap will be placed within the stream channel. Riprap pads will be installed flush with
the exis?ng bed eleva?on, and should be considered Permanent, No Loss impacts to the stream.
Addi?onally, labels and rows have been added to the map and the impact table to indicate temporary
stream and wetland impacts for dewatering and temporary sediment & erosion control measures to
install the culvert and riprap pads. New impact totals as proposed in the revised plan are as follows:
Stream SA – Riprap – Permanent, No Loss – 15 LF (98 SF / 0.0022 acre)
Stream SA – Dewatering – Temporary – 5 LF (36 SF / 0.0008 ac)
Wetland WA – Dewatering – Temporary – 124 SF (0.0028 ac)

Hi Kim,
Thank you for sending the a?achments (SOA, JD info, buffer le?er, SHPO, FWS) over a?er our conversa?on. I have two
addi?onal items that I need clarifica?on on before I can issue my le?er:
SCM#3 (page 9 of the updated impact maps) shows impacts for a greenway that has been placed on top of the
graded fill for an SCM. SCMs placed inside of Zone 1 of the buffer require mi?ga?on and there are currently no
totals listed for these impacts or mi?ga?on proposed. Please provide clarifica?on on this impact area.
