2022 Narrative
1. General Information
a. Our LTMP, AT, SUO, HWA, ERP and IWS are up to date.
i. Headworks Analysis is due April, 2023, even though the City of Roxboro W WTP has not
received it's new NPDES permit.
b. All SIU permits are current.
c. All Long Term Monitoring was completed each quarter.
2. SIU Information
a. Eaton Corporation ([UP 0002)
i. Eaton has a current permit that was renewed 7/1/22.
ii. Eaton had no violations this year.
iii. Eaton only has results for Aluminum, Chromium and Lead for the first half of the year
because they were removed from the permit when it was renewed.
iv. Eaton only has results for Ammonia for the second half of the year because it was added
to the permit when it was renewed.
v. Eaton was inspected by the POTW on 11/8/22.
vi. Eaton's flow meter was calibrated on 11/3/22.
b. Spuntech Industries (IUP 0012)
i. Spuntech Industries has a current permit that expires 2/28/2025.
ii. Spuntech has a new plant manager. Letter was submitted to Pretreatment on 11/9/22.
iii. Spuntech sampled for Cyanide 10/10/22 while the City of Roxboro was performing their
sampling event. These two numbers were averaged together.
iv. Spuntech sampled for Cyanide as required by permit on 11/2/22 while Meritech
performed a retest of Cyanide onll/2/22, required because of a violation. These two
numbers were averaged together.
v. Spuntech had five Cyanide violations, 4 Total Suspended Solid violations and one zinc
violation during 1/l/22-6/30/22 sampling period. They had three Cyanide violations
during 7/1/22-12/31/22 sampling period.
vi. In May, after receiving approval from Pretreatment Coordinator, Spuntech performed
required semi-annual sampling and included the required monthly sampling of Cyanide
as part of this sampling event. In November, Spuntech performed semi-annual sampling
event and performed monthly testing of Cyanide separately. Therefore, Spuntech only
had four Cyanide sample results in May and they had eight Cyanide sample results in
November.
vii. Spuntech Industries was inspected 11/7/22.
viii. Spuntech's flow meter was calibrated on 11/3/22.
