miles.

5. Describe the existing land use or condition of the site at the time of this application..
Existing land use consists of a lake -front residential home, wooden bulkhead/walkway, and wooden sidewalk with stairs leading to
a boat house.

7. Describe proposed work (include discussion as to how hardening of shoreline has been avoided, or
why it is necessary):
Proposed work includes removal of the existing wooden bulkhead, laying back the slopes and replacing the existing wooden
bulkhead with boulders. The existing bulkhead is in need of repair and shoreline erosion is occurring behind and above the
bulkhead. Erosion is potentially undermining the stability of some trees located onsite. A portion of the shoreline currently consists
of boulders and the intent is to remove the existing and ineffective wooden bulkhead with boulders similar to the opposite side of
the boathouse. The contractor intends to access the work site from land without the need for any vegetation removal or
disturbance.

The lot is sparsely vegetated with vegetation consisting of scattered hardwood trees. There is no shrub or herbaceous layer from
the shoreline and landward 50'. A dozen or few trees are present from the normal lake level and landward 50'.

Application Fee:
Once the application has been accepted. You will need to send a corresponding fee in with the appropriate DWR#. The
application fee is as follows (pursuant to G.S. 143-215.3D):
o $240.00 for impacts to lake (below normal water level) of less than 1 acre
d $570.00 for impacts to lake (below normal water level) of greater or equal to 1 acre
