Since there is no significant changes between quarterly analytical results, I don't have an issue with this requested change. We typically do change the monitoring frequency for permits like this when requested. Are you OK with this? Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify.Send all suspicious email as an attachment to Report Spam. Hello Mr. Rogers, I wanted to follow-up on a request included in Duke Energy's Annual Infiltration Report for the Belews Creek Steam Station submitted to the NCDEQ in October 2022. As part of the UIC permit,a quarterly sampling program from the surface water source, Belews Lake, was requested by the NCDEQ and implemented by Duke Energy to confirm that constituents of interest(COls) unrelated to Duke Energy site activities are acceptable for infiltration into the subsurface, if present. To date, Duke Energy has completed six quarterly sampling events for the extended list of parameters shown in the table below. Analytical results for these parameters have been below applicable groundwater standards under a variety of seasonal conditions. The analytical data is included in the infiltration report. The October 2022 report included a request to reduce the sampling frequency for these parameters from quarterly to semi-annually. In summary, Duke Energy respectfully requests the NCDEQ's review of the proposed sampling frequency modification described above. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. 2 Table from Section 3 of the October 2022 Annual Infiltration Report Proposed F ti o rce ftW Anelyt"Monw"Progrartl Itd MMY Labonnory lunar Arustrrtl Lgw"tl Ana J3l ■ Select Dissolved and Total Metals(1) Select Dissolved and Total Metals(1) ■ Geodwrnical Parameters(2) • Mercury • Lead And Silver • Bacterial Counts • Polychlorinated Biphenyls(PCBs), ■ PestiWas, ■ WOtatite Organic Compounds(VOCs), ■ Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds(SVOCs) ■ Perftuorooctanesulfonic acid(PFOS) ■ Pedkwo-n-octanoic acid(PFOA) ■ Pertluaro•1-butanesullonie acid(PFBS) Notes: (1)Select Dissolved and Total Metals, antimony, arsenic, barium beryllium, boron, cadrywum, chloride, chromium, chroniurn,(hexavalent),cobalt, iron, lithium, manganese molybdenum, selenium, strontium,suHate, thallium, total dissolved solids,(total),and vanadium.
