There will be minor ditch-line impacts. Area of potential effects is 75 feet either side from the centerline of the roadway/bridge and 300 feet from each end of the bridge. Project length is approximately 500 feet. There will be an off-site detour. There are no proper National Register-listed or Study Listed properties within the project's area of potential effects All properties greater than 50 years of age located in the APE have been considered and all compliance for historic architecture with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and GS 121-12(a) has been completed for this project. NCDOTArchnrolop+& Hlstorlc Archilecrore Groups SUMMARY OF CULTURAL RESOURCES REVIEW Brief description of review nctivities. results of review, nnd conclusions: Review of HPO quad maps, HPOweb GIS mapping, historic designations roster, and indexes was conducted on l0/8/12. Based on this review, there are no existing NR, SL, LD, DE, or SS properties in tlie Area of Potential Effects (APE). The CRS also reviewed Alamance County GIS and tax records which revealed two prope�ties within the APE over the age of fifty years old. These two properties are both twentieth-century properties and are identified by tax records to be built around 1940. The imaging on Googfe Street view was only fully clear in the evaluation of one of the properties. Therefore, in order to fully evaluate whether the other property could be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, a survey was necessary for this project. Built in 1958, Bridge No. 85 has not been included within the NCDOT Flistoric Bridge Inventory nor evaluated for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). However, according to the Google Street Vicw imagc it is a standard design and unlikely to be eligible for the NRHP. Bridge No. 267, fll(mnnhmv Rnre 7i�nck Raart, �llnntanre County, facing sotdheast. A field survey was conducted on 10/l9/l2. Bridge No. 267 is located on Altamahaw Race Track Road over Jaies Creek near the Ossipee community of Alamance County. Both properties were evaluated and determined not to meet the criteria for qualification as eligible to the NRHP, lacking historical or architectural significance. Therefore, due to the absence of any historic properties within the projecYs APE, NCDOT Historic Architecture makes a finding of "No Historic Properties Present/Affected" for this project.
