Dear Ms. Hammond:
The Municipal Unit of the Division of Water Resources acknowledges receipt of the Pretreatment Annual Report
(PAR) for the 2022 calendar year and has reviewed the request to inactivate the Town of Bladenboro Pretreatment
Program due to no Significant Industrial Users (SlUs) discharging wastewater to the publicly owned treatment
works (POTW).
The review indicates that no current Industrial User Pen -nits (IUPs) are in effect in the Division's
database for the POTW. The Town of Bladenboro has certified that no SlUs, as defined in 15A NCAC
021-1.0903, are active dischargers to the Town of Bladenboro WWTP.
The Division, therefore, approves the request to place the Town of Bladenboro Pretreatment Program in an
inactive status according to 15A NCAC 02H .0907(e).
The Town of Bladenboro will continue to maintain all wastewater requirements as dictated by the Town of
Bladenboro' National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit. Federal and state pretreatment
regulations require the local delegated pretreatment program to effectively control and document the discharge of
wastewater from SlUs to the POTW. It is the POTW's responsibility to ensure that these objectives are
consistently met.
