Haywood County
The Technical Support Unit has recently completed the
wasteload allocation for the subject facility. A review of
upstream and downstream self -monitoring data indicates no
water quality problems can be attributed to the facility's
discharge. However, the downstream data for temperature and
dissolved oxygen are questionable because each datum has been
exactly the same as the corresponding upstream datum for
approximately three years. This situation may have been created
because the facility samples only 50 feet downstream of its
outfall. It is our recommendation that the downstream sampling
site should be 200 feet from the discharge to allow for appropriate
mixing.
