SUBJECT: Modification to Upstream Sample Location
Shields Mobile Home Park
NPDES Permit No. NCO055271
Alamance County
Dear Mr. Shields:
At the Compliance Evaluation Inspection of Shields Mobile Home Park on October 22,
2003, Mike Carson, ORC, requested to move the upstream sample location downstream
approximately 25 feet. Currently, the permit specifies in Part I, Section A that the upstream
sample location for Shields Mobile Home Park wastewater treatment facility is 100 feet above
discharge location, which falls at the Travis Creek Bridge on Highway 87. In order to avoid the
potentially dangerous traffic conditions at the current sample location, Mr. Carson would prefer the
sample location to be moved to 75 feet above discharge location, which is a safer sampling point.
This office agrees that this is an appropriate request. Therefore, Mr. Carson is granted
permission to change sampling locations.
