The purpose of the evaluation was to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Permit WQ0018755. Joel Mingus and Michael Cowell were present during the inspection. This facility is a 100,000 gpd reclaim water generation facility that irrigates the Castle Bay Golf Course. Average flow for the month of January 2023 was approximately 40,000 gpd. The newly constructed mechanical fine screen with wash press was put online in December 2022. Other improvements, completed last year, were the relining of the EQ tank and digester. The old flowmeter for the storage pond was located and replaced so application records from the golf course staff can be confirmed. In addition, the dirt road leading to the plant has been improved since the last inspection. A review of records show no effluent violations since the last inspection. MW-2 and MW-3 continue to have ammonia limit exceedances, and, as stated in previous inspection reports, the manged timber forest nearby could be a contributor. The operator stated that flow in the wells have been very low or none at all except for stagnate water, due to the dry conditions. Please mark dry well on the GW-59s during these conditions and do not sample if the well cannot be purged properly. The Wilmington Regional Office will continue to monitor the trends and evaluate the need for new wells. The facility is compliant with non -discharge permit WQ0018755. Please review the comment sections of the inspection report for more details.
