Zan,
Thank you for your email reagrding the park improvements at Rhododnron Lake Park, Phase 2.
1. The lake willl be dewatered from the top using a mechaical pump and hose. Water will be withdrawn
from the pond into the hose and pump and discharged into the outlet pipe. Please note that the stream
intake pipe has been sealed off during this project to prevent stream flow into the pond.
2. The attached PDF, Reach 3 Detail, represents the stream bank stabilization at area S 1.
3. The wetland littoral shelf will be seeded with MD Mountain OBL Wetland Mix(ERNMX -704). The
stream banks will be planted with NC Mountains Riparian Mix # ERNMX -304.

The Division of Water Resources (DWR) has performed a review of the 401 Water Quality Certification application
submitted for the referenced project. Please provide additional information so we can complete our review. Respond
to this email by April 20, 2015 to avoid placing this application on hold.
Please provide a descriptive narrative on the proposed construction techniques and construction sequence that
details the method of dewatering the lake area to prevent downstream sedimentation during sediment removal
from the lake and forebay construction.
2. Please provide the proposed streambank slope for the impact S1 bank stabilization area.
Please provide the proposed temporary and permanent seed mix list for the bank stabilization areas and littoral
shelf area.
