January 9, 2023 the BOD sample came back at 58mg/I the limit is 45 mg/I. I cleaned the trash out of the
chlorine contact chamber. I try to clean in the summer when we have no flow. Because 2 of the covers
fell in the contact chamber when I removed them I cleaned out the contact chamber. I think the high
BOD was cause by cleaning along with chlorine residue being stirred up. High chlorine can cause BOD
problems as you know. Is the something we can do to avoid the NOV / fines. On the DMR you can see
no problems the next week when samples taken. We are requesting no fines imposed for this NOV.
Moving forward maintenance will be done only when there is no flow from the plant to eliminate this
happening in the future. Let me know should you have any questions.
Thanks
