HomeMy WebLinkAbout20230165 Ver 1_WRC Comments_20230303 Chandler, Rebecca D Subject:FW: High Meadows Maverick Trail - NCWRC comments Hi Brian and Seren, I have reviewed the information sent to me about High Meadows Maverick Trail project, which proposes to permanently impact 159 ft and temporarily impact 40 ft of an unnamed tributary to Muddy Creek for a residential development in Stokes County. The project should not impact wild trout and a trout moratorium is not needed for this project. The proposed culvert would be reinforced concrete pipe (RCP); we recommend against using RCP or high density polyethylene (HDPE) material for culverts, as these smooth materials are less likely to hold stream substrate and provide for movement of aquatic organisms like fish and salamanders.
