I am writing in response to the proposed coal ash dump site in Lee county.
Lee county is one of the smallest counties in NC. The Economic health is already compromised with a higher than state
average unemployment. The Duke coal ash disposal plan will dissuade other new industries (employers ) from investing
in our county.
The property values of landowners, especially adjacent to the site, will plummet while taxes will continue to rise due to a
stressed infrastructure.
Conservation is also a primary concern. The property, Duke refers to as a "reclamation ", has been long "reclaimed" by
forests, streams, and habitats of a wide variety of plants and animals.
Please consider these concerns and reject the permit required by Duke, Charah, and Green Meadow.
Respectfully submitted
