A preliminary review of that information has determined that the application is not complete. The following information is needed to continue the stormwater review: 1. The dimensions of the design pool are incorrect. According to the pond cross-section detail, the 6:1 vegetated shelf is located from elevation 44.5 to 45.5, therefore, the east -west dimension should be 114 + 12 = 126'. You show the dimension of the 45.8 contour as 123', when it should be 128'. This is not consistent with the detail. The 205' dimension is OK. 2. The permanent pool has been dimensioned and the calculations revised to reflect the actual size of the ponds rather than the required sizes. The forebay is included in the surface area calculations. 2. The outlet detail has been revised to show the PVC pipe going through the wall. 3. The forebay has been revised to be 3 foot deep which will be 1/2 of the permanent pool depth. 4. The 90% TSS removal chart was used in the calculations and is now noted in the calculations. 5. We have re -calculated the volume between the permanent pool and the storage pool based on the actual surface areas and confirmed the orifice 243 NORTH FRONT STREET size of 2 inches is adequate. A drawdown time of 4.1 days will result. W ILMINGTON, NC 20401 6. The outparcel has been labeled as such. The pond was sized allowing for 910/343 1048 100% impervious area within the outparcel. We have added a note clarifying these on the plans. There should not be a need for a deed FAX 910/251 8282 restriction covenant since it can be developed to 100% impervious. McKim and Creed Engineers 243 North Front Street Wilmington, North Carolina 28401 Subject: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Stormwater Project No. SW8 960705 Marine Chevrolet-Geo Onslow County Dear Mr. Waser: The Wilmington Regional Office received a Stormwater Management Permit Application for Marine Chevrolet-Geo on July 11, 1996. A preliminary review of that information has determined that the application is not complete. The following information is needed to continue the stormwater review: 1. Please dimension the permanent pool, and double check that what is dimensioned reflects tl'DI` what is reported in the calculations as provided.. I scaled about 22,000 square feet on the Q plans. Remember that the forebay is included in the surface area calculation. C 2. On the outlet detail, the PVC orifice needs to go through the wall of the box. 3. Forebays are supposed to be shallower than the main body of the pond. Please revise the detail to reflect a shallow forebay. 4. Please report the TSS chart used in the calculations. 5. You must check the volume provided between the permanent pool and the storage pool based on the surface areas actually provided. The orifice size is based on the volume provided between the permanent pool and the storage pool, not what is calculated as required. 6. Pease label the outparcel on the plan and provide Attachment A limiting the built -upon area. 127 Cardinal Drive Extension, Wilmington, N.C. 28405-3845 • Telephone 910-395-3900 • Fax 910-350-2004 An Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer Mr. Waser August 1, 1996 Stormwater Project No. SW8 960705 Please note that this request for additional information is in response to a preliminary review. The project involves approximately 9 acres of developed area with the use of a wet detention stormwater pond. Stormwater will be collected by catch basins and piping routed to the pond. If you have any questions during your review of these plans please feel free to give me a call. Sincerely, ,kAcKIM & CREED ENGINEERS, P.A. w4gD.haOWP E Project Engineer /bbs 243 NORTH FRONT STREET WILMINGTON, NO 28401 9101343 1048 FAX 9101251 8282 E C E I V E D JUL 111996 swMtcno')0$ 5W B qua-705 EROSION CONTROL AND STORMWATER DESIGN NARRATIVE FOR MARINE CHEVROLET AUTOMOBILE DEALERSHIP General The project involves developing approximately 9 acres of land for an automobile dealership including two (2) buildings and asphalt parking lot with associated grading and utilities. Site Description The topography on the site is fairly flat. The elevations on site range from elevation 50 to elevation 47. Topsoil overlies the site to depths of 6 to 8 inches and is underlain by soft to firm silty clays, sandy clays, and clayey sands to depths of 23 feet. Erosion Control Measures The land naturally slopes to the north. A detention pond is designed for stormwater management and will be incorporated as an erosion control measure during construction. Run- off will be conveyed by collecting in catch basins and routing to the pond. Silt fence and washed stone will be provided around each inlet to trap sediment before entering the pipe until the area is paved. The fill slopes on the north embankment of the pond will be stabilized and provided with silt fence at the base to trap sediment running off the slopes. A temporary construction entrance will be placed at the project entrance off Gateway South Drive. The stormwater pond will have a 6 foot permanent pool with the run-off from the 10 year-10 minute storm to drain out of the pond in slightly over three days. The outlet is piped to a ditch feeding the headwaters of Mill Creek. n E C E I V E D Ilunnu{a{ JUL 1,11996 PROJ # SW B cperloS j McKIM&CREED TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR AUTOMOBILE DEALERSHIP TO WINAT1 MARINE CHEVROLET - GEO JACKSONVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA JUNE 1996 E C E I V E JUL 1:11996 D E PROJ # ME 0D%O S McIQM&CRUD TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR AUTOMOBILE DEALERSHIP 1 I MARINE CHEVROLET - GEO JACKSONVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA JUNE 1996 EAL C 5489 CI NE P. 0uGPS,°• McKim & Creegineers, P.A. 243 North Front Street Wilmington, North Carolina 28401 STORMATER n E C E I V E D uuUUjuu JUL 111996 D E M PROJk 0 I - ,i TABLE OF CONTENTS Technical Specifications M&C1270.0001.0W 01010 Existing Underground Utilities 1 - 2 01600 Material and Equipment 1 - 2 01700 Contract Closeout 1 - 3 02190 Erosion Control 1 - 7 02200 Earthwork 1 - 4 02485 Seeding 1 - 4 02513 Asphaltic Concrete Paving 1 - 4 02514 Portland Cement Concrete Paving 1 - 4 02520 Gravity Sewer 1 - 6 02531 Water Distribution 1 - 7 02720 Storm Sewage Systems 1 - 3 02950 Trees, Plants, and Ground Cover 1 - 5 03100 Concrete Formwork 1 - 5 03200 Concrete Reinforcement 1 - 3 03300 Cast -In -Place Concrete 1 - 5 16010 Basic Electrical Requirements 1 - 2 16111 Conduit 1 - 2 16123 Building Wire and Cable 1 - 4 16170 Grounding and Bonding 1 - 3 16195 Electrical Identification 1 - 2 16476 Circuit Breakers 1 - 3 16485 Enclosed Contactors 1 - 2 16530 Site Lighting 1 - 4 SECTION 01010 - EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES -" PART1 GENERAL 1.1 NOTICE A.
