Catawba-Wateree Hydropower Project (FERC P-2232)
Dear Ms. Styer:
On March 8, 2023, The Division of Water Resources (Division) received an email from you,
concerning your request for Division's comment on Duke's application to FERC for a Non -
Capacity License Amendment to install a 20-ft long debris gate at the Rhodhiss Hydro Station's
spillway. The Division reviewed the application, along with the supporting documentation, and
has no objection to your application for the Non -Capacity License Amendment to FERC. A new
or additional 401 WQC approval is not necessary; installation of this gate does not result in
additional discharge due to the proposed design, sizing, and operation of this gate which is
purposely for debris management only.
