Permittinq Sectior,
I am writing in response to your March 25, 2015 letter to Edward Kreul asking for information regarding
our use of water exclusively for cooling. The information requests are restated and answered below.
1. Design intake flow for your facility (maximum flow the intake structure is capable of withdrawing.)
The specified design capacity of the river water intake screen is 40 million gallons per day (MGD).
In reviewing pumping data 2012 to present, the highest hourly flow rate we found was 49.6 MGD.
At that time all of the intake pumps were running.
2. Actual Intake for your facility (average volume of water withdrawn on an annual basis over the
past three years.)

3. Percent of water withdrawn on an actual intake flow basis used exclusively for cooling purposes.
Approximately 13% of the total intake 2012 through 2014 was used exclusively for cooling based
on measured process cooling water use and an estimate of water used in local air conditioning
units.
I hope this is the information you need. If you have any questions or require additional information, please
call me at (910) 362-3309.
Yours truly,
A, -eer
