SUBJECT: Compliance Inspection Report
Valley Creek Apartments WWTP
NPDES WW Permit No. NCO033448
Watauga County
Dear Ms. Carrigan:
Tricia Lowery with the North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Valley Creek
Apartments WWTP on 2/16/2023. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in
compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0033448. The
findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection
report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".
Please respond in writing to this office within 30 days of your receipt of this letter regarding your plans
or measures to be taken to address the following issues:
�. The drive unit to the secondary clarifier was out of service. Inspector was told a new unit would soon be
there for replacement. Please respond as to whether repairs and replacement of the drive unit was
completed.
2. Exposed influent pipe to treatment facility in addition to piping that branches from influent pipe. Exposed
components are susceptible to damage and/or vandalism if not secured. Furthermore, it could not be
determined if the pipe branching from influent line is capped preventing flow being diverted from treatment
plant.
