HDR, on behalf of Duke Energy Carolinas, LCC (Duke Energy), is requesting a modification to the approved Clean Water
Act (CWA) Section 404 (Action ID 20215-02542) and Section 401 Individual Permit (DWR # 20160742 Ver 5) for design
changes related to the Cedar Cliff Auxiliary Spillway Upgrade Project (Project) in Jackson County, North Carolina.
Duke Energy is proposing two additional permanent fill impacts below the normal full pond elevation of Cedar Cliff Lake
including:
• 0.07 acres (3,186 square feet) of rip rap at the north end the peninsula area to remain in place
• 0.28 acres (12,300 square feet) of the construction access road (permitted as temporary impacts) to remain in
place for the Shook Cove Road Boat Ramp.
