Hey Dave,
I wanted to follow up with you about our site visit — specifically about the pile of possible sediment we observed near
the river. See Bobby's email below, and photos. Also, note the last photo — it shows runoff coming down Broadstone
Rd, towards the project - this runoff was probably from the gravel road above the project, but was definitely not from
the project area. While this photo was taken back in March, 2022, it does show that there are various sources of turbid
runoff to the Watauga River in the area, and many ways that the river can get turbid. I know from our site visit that we
also lost sediment into the road, but as Bobby mentioned, if someone saw this, I'm sure they would assume it came
from us as well. I'm personally hoping some of the concerns from local citizens with the recent storm may be due to
other sediment sources like this one, and notjust us.
Also, I'm lining up a site review and tour with Andy Hill, the Watauga Riverkeeper. I'm hoping that by taking him
through the project, it might relieve some of his concerns, which he can share with his local constituents. I'll keep you
posted.
Thanks again for your help yesterday,
Kevi n

Subject: Sediment
Hey Kevin,
I'm attaching some pictures of where we thought we might have had the sediment loss Sta. 159+75 Rt. This area had
less than a inch of sediment and after pouring the water off, it was mostly river sand. Cleanup was less than a gallon and
following yours and Dave Wanucha directions we did not disturb any more of the area. I'm also attaching some pictures
taken back in March of 2022 that Paul had showing the water coming down 194 from River Bluff drive onto the project
on Y-5 (where the cross line pipe needs replacing that's off project limits) This area could have very well been out in the
road Friday evening.
If You need anything else just let me know.
Thanks Bobby
