Wildlands: Emily R., Sarah and two other Emilys COE: Todd T., Steve K. EPA: none DWR: Mac H. Site notes: Owls Den is a stream and wetland project that has a blackberry farm adjacent to it, and it accepts a lot of drainage from a major portion of the farm. The site walk initiated to the start of reach HC2, the site was very wet and vegetation showed very good vigor throughout. The walk continued down to reach HC1 to the confluence of Howards Creek. Beavers have been accessing from Howards Creek but have been controlled to this point. Streambanks were stable throughout. The beform was primarily clay fines. There were not erosional areas. The site walk continued through HC1 reach 1 and up the western edge of the site. Numerous small easement scalloping was pointed out (through mowing) but these had been rectified and the IRT made a recommendation to place an extra post along one side to reinforce the easement. The site looked very good, the wetland hydrology was well over the required 8% and typically seem to be in the mid 20% range throughout with many areas near 100%. The IRT recommended to close as recommended.
