Site notes: Henry Fork is a stream and wetland project. Site walk initiated along UT1 and went up to
UT1B. UT1B has flow issues early on size the area was a small pond but there were no flow issues and
had not been for some time.
UT1 showed good vigor and stream stability. There was still some crossing by the disc golfers on the
lower end of reach 1, however, it did not appear to be a major issue. The group continued to walk most
of the UT2 reach. This reach had a very high sinuosity which the IRT commented on at initial review and
throughout the project life. WEI maintained they incorporated that sinuosity(-1.7) to aid in the wet up
of the wetlands. There did appear to be flow but the IRT still lamented the design on this portion of the
project. There were some areas of low vigor along this reach, likely due to compatibility and low
nutrients.
The site walked continued to UT1 reach 2 to the confluence with Henry Fork. The stream was stable and
there a few areas of low vigor. The areas of low vigor on site were about 5%. Low vigor was an issue
early on and despite some of the activities of Wildlands many of these areas still had low vigor. Beaver
had always been an issue at the bottom of the project and will continue to be but they had been
controlled and the IRT felt that there was not reason to extend any monitoring.
Overall the site showed that the stream was stable and in general the vegetation was trending in a good
condition. One very good aspect of the site was WEI bought the entire tract (was an old golf course)
there is an "extra" significant acreage and some of that is in wetlands.
The IRT recommended to close as proposed.
