(RAF) to remove sludge from Cell 2 and Cell 3 at the Hyde County Egg Farm in the during March/April 2023 and replace the Liner in Cell 3. RAF has performed sludge removal for themselves and with contractors at other locations throughout the company and feel confident in the process. Step 1 RAF will coordinate with local contractor and liner replacement contractor to develop the removal and replacement schedule. RAF will drop the level of the water in Cell 3 through irrigation on approved fields in the CAWMP. Sludge will then be slurryed, sampled for nutrient content and fields will be added to the CAWNMP, and either be land applied on RAF owned fields near the lagoon or taken to the compost buildings for composting with manure. Time, date, and amount of sludge material applied will be kept for each field using the slurry and sludge land application record form. Step 2 A pump and irrigation reel will be set up in adjacent RAF owned field for land application of incoming water into Cell 2 if needed while work is being done on cell 3. Cell 1 and 2 have a storage capacity of 14 days. This should give adequate time for liner replacement in cell 3. Step 3 Once all sludge has been removed, RAF and the liner removal contractor will remove the liner and dispose of the liner material at the landfill. Cleanup and finish grading back to original grade take place. Once that is completed, the liner install company will install new liner and backfill top anchor trench. Water can then be transferred back into cell 3.
