This letter is in response to the Notice of Violation, Case No. NOV-2021-DV-0298 concerning the spill
that occurred on March 26'h, 2021 at 1340 Skeet Club Road, Guilford County, High Point, North
Carolina.
The spill at the above -mentioned address lasted for 3 hours and 28 minutes. The crews arrived on site
shortly after receiving the call at 2:23 pm. The spill location was discovered at 1340 Skeet Club Road. A
Contractor was working on a NC DOT project moving the guardrail when they punctured the force main
causing the spill. Breece Enterprises was on -site within an hour of the city notifying them to begin the
repair. The force main that was punctured was being feed from the Waterview Lift Station. We had the
station offline once this occurred and closed valves so that the flow would be more manageable
An emergency sediment basin was used to minimize the flow that was released to surface waters. Our
crews used a Vac -AI truck to vacuum out the spill from the basin until the contactor could get someone
on -site. Once contractors crew arrived on -site our truck was placed at the lift station to assist with the
level until the repair was completed.
Once the repair was made the contractor was responsible for cleaning out the remaining amount of
sewer that was still in the emergency basin. The area was cleaned afterwards as well as water flushed
to help with any remaining overflow issues.
