Dear Mr. Bentley:
The Municipal Unit of the Division of Water Resources has reviewed the request to inactivate the Town of
Andrews Pretreatment Program due to no Categorical Industrial Users(CLUB) or Significant Industrial Users
(SLUs)wastewater discharge to the Town of Andrews' municipal sewer system or direct transport to the Town
of Andrews' WWTP.
The review indicates that no current Industrial User Permits (LUPs)are in effect in the Division's database. And
the Town of Andrews has certified that no Industrial dischargers, as defined in 15A NCAC 0214 .0903, are
active in the Town of Andrews WWTP service area.
The Division,therefore, approves the request to place the Town of Andrews' Pretreatment Program in an
inactive status according to 15A NCAC 02H .0907(e).
The Town of Andrews will continue to maintain all program requirements as dictated by the Town of Andrews
National Pollutant Discharge System(NPDES)permit. Federal and State pretreatment regulations require the
local delegated pretreatment program to effectively control and document the discharge of wastewater from
Significant/Categorical Industrial Users to the POTW.It is the POTW's responsibility to ensure that these
objectives are consistently met.
