Hi Rebecca, -The right bank is fairly well vegetated, therefore we intend to work around the larger trees and transplant small trees/shrubs from onsite as the stream design geometry allows. We want that large vegetation as well, but need the autonomy to clear areas that need to be sloped/benched and stabilized. I would offer that we will preserve any large trees that can be without jeopardizing the stability of the channel. How does that sound? - I went back to the field here and adjusted the ford crossing. (see Attached revised plan) There is already a historic ford crossing in this location. (not used a lot and failed) Over the last 2-3 months beavers have wreaked havoc on this stream. -The feature you circled is indeed a stream. The beavers have rerouted the main channel and effected its flow into more of a channel. Before it was not evident. I have updated the plans to show the stream. We are avoiding it and the wetlands with no impacts proposed. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Please provide a response to the below items within 30 days. Please note that the application will be considered "on hold" until a complete response is received. 1. The aerial and topo maps indicate that there may be a stream feature at the location circled below. Was a stream form completed for this feature and/or do you have any photos of this feature that you can provide? [cid: image002.png@O 1 D94776.425 0EODO] 1. The project includes a ford crossing of the stream. The proposed location appears to show one end of the crossing ending at the toe of the mapped wetland #1 as well as near the feature mentioned in item #1. Is the location of this ford crossing pertinent, and if so, please provide reasoning and what will be done to mitigate risks to the wetland and possible feature. 2. Please provide a response to the WRC Comment #3 stating how the project plans to minimize removal of native vegetation: "3. It appears that an intact riparian buffer exists on the right bank, and disturbance and removal of native vegetation should be minimized as much as possible."
