MEMORANDUM
TO: Farrel Keough
FROM: Mike Mickey 0\
SUBJECT: Abington WWTP/NC0060461
Kynwood WWTP/NC0046752
Forsyth County
As a follow-up to our recent discussions regarding Belews Creek, I reviewed the recent
wasteloads for the Abington and Kynwood facilities (See forms attached). It was noted that the
Kynwood facility had ammonia limits while the larger Abington facility located further upstream
only had BOD and TSS limits. Since the Abington permit will be up for renewal soon, should
WSRO request that a new wasteload be performed, or should we simply request that ammonia
limits be incorporated into their next permit in order to be consistent?
In addition, please note that the drainage area shown on the Kynwood wasteload (#6331)
is incorrect. The drainage area is estimated at 6.6 mi2. I have also included a topo map showing
the location of the beaver dam/wetland complex (in green) into which the Abington facility
discharges.
Please give me a call with your recommendation. Thanks.
