This amendment means to add a tire wash system to the proposed NOI as well as a second outfall. Tire
wash systems are covered under NPDES permit NCG140000 part F-2, a(i). These additions will be
included in the SWPPP.
F-2. Process Wastewater
a) These requirements apply to all process wastewater from ready -mixed concrete
production operations which includes, but may not be limited to, the water involved
in:
i. Vehicle and equipment cleaning,
H. Wetting of raw material stockpiles,
iii. Mixing drum cleanout.
Industrial activities draining to outfall 002.

The stormwater for the given area will only be in contact with construction trailers, parking, and the tire
wash station
OF 2 Potential Pollutants Include
• Fuels and oils from transient vehicles,
• Residual stone, sand and aggregate solids from tire wash station
The requirement for non -polar oil and grease testing is outlined in NPDES permit NCG140000 part E-1, a,
is as follows.
E-1. Required Baseline Sampling
The permittee shall perform baseline sampling of all stormwater discharge outfalls and/or
authorized representative discharge outfalls in accordance with this part.
(a) Grab samples shall be collected, analyzed, and reported for the following
parameters listed in Table 2. In addition, grab samples shall be analyzed for Non -
Polar Oil & Grease in vehicle or equipment maintenance areas in which more than
55 gallons of new motor oil and/or hydraulic oil per month is used when averaged
over the calendar year.
No vehicle maintenance will occur within the drainage areas of OF 1 or OF 2, therefore, non -polar oil
and grease will not be tested for at these outfalls as it does not meet the requirement for testing.

Tire Wash
A tire wash system is proposed to remove sediment from truck tires leaving the active construction
area. The sediment slurry is discharged to swales leading to a sediment basin where the water will be
monitored. The "wastewater" from the tire wash will be comingled with stormwater in the sediment
basin leading to outfall 2.
A complete description of the proposed tire wash is attached in an additional document.
