The Antioch &Arabia WTPs are two well water treatment operations that are a part of the Hoke County Regional Water System. The treatment processes at both sites are identical. The Antioch site has two wells and the Arabia site has one well. The treatment consists of aeration and filtration. The purpose is for iron removal at both sites. In addition to aeration and filtration we also use sodium hydroxide, chlorine gas, and AquaMag,which is a polyphosphate. Finished water from the elevated tanks is used to backwash the filters. This backwash water is directed into an equalization basin before being discharged into any receiving waters. The Arabia filtration system was brought on line in February of this year and Antioch was just started up in April. The numbers and information provided in the NPDES renewal forms are based on data accumulated since these dates. I'm sure by the next renewal date we will be able to provide more accurate numbers based upon longer operation periods. If I can provide any further information or if you have questions concerning these applications, please contact me at(910) 875-6704. Sincerely, ((,;1 Alleititei e. ., Michael E.
