SUBJECT: Compliance Inspection Report
1955 Farrington Point Drive SFR
Non -discharge Permit No. WQ0023184
Chatham County
Dear Permittee:
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the 1955 Farrington Point Drive
single family residence (SFR) on 02/13/2023. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is
operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Non -discharge Permit No.
WQ0023184. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of
the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".
Division records indicate a treatment system consists of: a 1,200-gallon baffled septic tank with effluent
filter; a 390 sqft gravity dosed subsurface sand filter; a tablet chlorinator chamber; a 2,000-gallon
storage/pump tank; audio/visual high water alarms, an automatic rain shut-off and soil moisture monitoring
device a 0.44-acre spray irrigation area, and all associated piping, valves, controls and appurtenances.
During the inspection, the following was observed:
Schedule (Section I of permit):
1. The permit expired December 31, 2022. A permit renewal application was submitted November 28,
2022 and currently still in processing.
Performance (Section II):
2. During the inspection, the fencing around the irrigation area was adequate.
3. The spray heads and pipes were well maintained. One spray head is stiff and could use some
maintenance to help it freely move.
4. The chlorination unit was well maintained with the correct chlorine tablets in the pipes.
5. The septic tank, pump tank, sand filter, and alarms were functioning properly.
6. Mr. Wheeler now owns the land that required a previous waiver. Therefore, the waiver is no longer
necessary. Setbacks were adequate.
Operation and Maintenance (O&M) (Section III):
7. During the inspection, the system was functioning normally. The system is maintained by the
homeowner with accessible maintenance records.
8. In 2020, the pump in the tank stopped working, and he ordered a new part and installed the new
pump. He had receipts available for review.

9. The fence around the irrigation was in good condition.
10. The septic tank was pumped on January 16, 2023.
Monitoring and Reporting (Section IV):
11. The homeowner checks the system weekly/monthly for any repairs needed.
Inspections (Section V):
1. The homeowner inspects the system regularly.
General Conditions (Section VI):
2. The facility continues to be owned by Mr. Brian Wheeler. All fees are paid to date and there have been
no violations or enforcements for the facility.
This report is a notification of the results of the compliance inspection. No violations were observed at the
