Hello David,

I have not reviewed the application yet, but Chonticha provided me with these comments in regards to the SMP. Can
you pass these along to the engineer so they can be working on these. I don’t expect to have any 401 comments, but I
do need to go back through the application to be sure of that. Please contact Chonticha directly if there are any
questions about the items below.

1. Please provide the stormwater application form SWU-101 (the application fee is not required and the last two
pages of the form may be omitted). Also, please include all appropriate supplemental forms and O&M
agreement. Applicable forms may be found on the DEMLR’s website at
https://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/energy-mineral-land-resources/energy-mineral-land-permit-
guidance/stormwater-bmp-manual.
2. On page 16 of the stormwater report, wet pond design for pond #2, the selected pool depth seems to be
incorrect. The table shows the depth of 5 ft (for SA/DA = 2.07) while the 4-ft depth was used in the calculations.
Please review and revise accordingly.
3. Forebay volume should be between 15-20% of the volume in the main pool, please check the calculations for
forebay volume of both ponds and revise as necessary. Note that engineering plans may also need to be revised.
