Hi Cameron L., We are following up on the permit extension request forwarded to you by Tara and Cameron Weaver. As indicated in the email chain below, we are requesting a 2 week permit extension for the dredging at Gold Bond Building Products facility in Wilmington. The dredging has been ongoing, and we have already mechanically removed approximately 2,000 cubic yards of debris that can't be removed by hydraulic methods. We suffered a setback last week because the seal on the pump blew during initial startup. As an update, a replacement seal will be installed on Tuesday at which time pumping will resume. Very conservative pumping estimates show 14 shifts needed to complete, so we currently want to stick with the 2-week extension request. We'll have a better sense of solids % after we begin pumping and can hopefully bring this down, as the least conservative estimates show 9 shifts to complete. Please let us know what we need to do to obtain this 2 week permit extension, since the Feb. 15th date is Wednesday. Feel free to call me with any questions. Thanks, Jen Jennifer L. HI Jennifer, This request would go through major permits and I have talked with Cameron Luck in the Morehead City Office. He is copied on this email. Cameron, what is the best path to move forward? It was my understanding that extensions may trigger a Minor Modification of the permit. Hi Tara, I thought it would help you out if I attached a copy of the current permit for the subject project. Let me know if we can be granted an extension past the February 15th date (we are requesting a 2 week extension, but anticipate less time will be needed). See the email below for more details. The dredging has been ongoing and we have already mechanically removed approximately 2,000 cubic yards of debris that can't be removed by hydraulic methods. We suffered a setback last week because the seal on the pump blew during initial startup. That is being replaced and we expect to resume hydraulic dredging tomorrow. We will have a better sense of the schedule once the dredging resumes, but it looks like we may go past February 15. Can you provide a permit extension of approximately two weeks? We will provide an updated schedule estimate as soon as we have it, which may be able to reduce our extension to less than two weeks. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
