This system (check one) does does not incorporate a vegetated filter at the outlet. This system (check one) does does not incorporate pretreatment other than a forebay. Form: SNM-102 Rev 3.99 Page 2 of 4 Maintenance activities shall be performed as follows: 1. After every significant runoff producing rainfall event and at least monthly: a. Inspect the wet detention basin system for sediment accumulation, erosion, trash accumulation, vegetated cover, and general condition. b. Check and clear the orifice of any obstructions such that drawdown of the temporary pool occurs within 2 to 5 days as designed. 2. Repair eroded areas immediately, re -seed as necessary to maintain good vegetative cover, mow vegetative cover to maintain a maximum height of six inches, and remove trash as needed. 3. Inspect and repair the collection system (i.e. catch basins, piping, swales, riprap, etc.) quarterly to maintain proper functioning. 4. Remove accumulated sediment from the wet detention basin system semi-annually or when depth is reduced to 75% of the original design depth (see diagram below). Removed sediment shall be disposed of in an appropriate manner and shall be handled in a manner that will not adversely impact water quality (i.e. stockpiling near a wet detention basin or stream, etc.) The measuring device used to determine the sediment elevation shall be as such that it will give an accurate depth reading and not readily penetrate into accumulated sediments. When the permanent pool depth reads WA feet in the main pond, the sediment shall be removed. When the permanent pool depth reads N/A feet in the forebay, the sediment shall be removed. Dear Ms. Munn: Please find the enclosed response to your request for additional information for the above referenced project. 1. Two copies of both sheets B and C with the wetland note are included. Also, sheet C's scale has been corrected. 2. Pond bottom and sediment removal elevations have been added to the pond schedule on the revised sheet A. Page 3 of the Wet Detention Basin Supplement has also been revised and included. 3. You're right; stage 0 of the ponds is the normal water surface elevation in the calculations. 4. Swale 7 replaces Pond 7. SW8 020510 only permitted pond 8 within the tract boundary of sheet B. This submittal has pond 8 extending to where it is shown on sheet A. Swale 7 will require some grading and a detail has been added to sheet A. To avoid the time delays involved with getting the wetland delineator back on site, all potential wetlands near areas of disturbance will be staked and protected with silt fencing as shown on sheet A. I trust this information to be sufficient for your review and approval. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact this office. Thanks again for your timely review. Please call me with any questions. Jeff, I have just a few comments and questions. 1. The revised plans do not include sheets B & C. I need to get the revised copies of these sheets that include the wetlands note. Also, the scale on my sheet C is incorrect. 2. I understand that this is a non -discharge system, but the bottom of the pond elevation needs to be included on the plans as well as the sediment cleanout level. We need to have the actual elevation that the sediment cleanout will occur, and the person performing the maintanence activity needs to have an actual depth. Even though the ponds are non -discharging, if maintanence does not occur, the capacity of the ponds could be diminished and the system could discharge through the emergency overflow at a lower pond volume. 3. In your calculations, on the routing for the 25-year storm, is stage 0 of the ponds the normal water surface elevation? 4. Pond 7 is gone and is now just a swale. Is that correct? Will any grading be done to this swale? Also, was all of Pond 8 permitted under the permit SW8 020510? If Swale #7 is going to be graded, I need to get a detail of the swale on the plans. Also, if there is going to be disturbance in this area and if there is an extension to Pond 8, the owner must provide information regarding the wetlands in this area. A delineation should be done for the areas to be disturbed. Please call me if you have any questions. Also, congratulations on your P.E. Box 1967 Wilmington, NC 28402 Subject: REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Stormwater Project No. SW8 020510 Modification Waterford Brunswick County Dear Mr. Exum: The Wilmington Regional Office received a Stormwater Management Permit Application for Waterford on February 14, 2003. A preliminary review of that information has determined that the application is not complete. The following information is needed to continue the stormwater review: 1. Please either delineate all wetlands on site, disturbed or undisturbed, or note on the plans that none exist. The legend contains a potential AEC. If these are wetlands, please label as such. 2. Please locate the ponds in recorded access/drainage easements. Please show these easements on the plans. 3. Please provide a pond section detail and specify pond side slope vegetation and the wetland species to be planted on the 6:1 shelf. 4. FYI — The scale in the title block says 1" = 200' when the scale is actually 1" = 50' on Sheet SW-C. Please correct. 5. Please provide FFE on the clubhouse and additional spot elevations for the interior area including pool decks and tennis courts. 6. Please label Riser #1G. It is listed in the Riser Structure Schedule on Sheet SW -A, but I am not able to locate it on the plans. 7. Please add the pond depth to pond schedule on Sheet SW -A. Also, please provide the sediment removal depth for each pond on the schedule as well. 8. Please provide calculations that show what the 1 " required volume is, what the 25 year volume is, and how you determined that 2,125,530 cubic feet of volume has been provided. N. C. Dear Ms. Munn: Please find the enclosed response to your request for additional information for the above referenced project. 1. All individual stormwater plans either show wetlands or note that none exist. Tract `A' shows potential wetlands on future development. This land is not being developed at this time. A qualified wetland specialist will evaluate any potential wetland before development on that tract. 2. A note has been added to the plans that the ponds be located in recorded access/drainage easements. Due to graphic limitations, these easements are not shown on the plans, but a sample copy of a recorded plat is included to show these easements. 3. A non -discharge pond system is used which meets alternate design criteria. 4. The title block on sheet SW-C has been corrected. 5. The finished floor elevations have been added to the plans for the requested areas. 6. Riser #lG was removed from the plans. The Riser Structure Schedule on sheet SW -A has been revised. 7. The non -discharge ponds will average 6 to 8 feet in depth. Accumulated sediment will be removed when approximately 25% of the ponds depth is lost.
