DWR agrees we can handle this via a field adjustment, please consider this correspondence as the official approval. I will add the supporting documentation to the project file. As discussed on site on 2/1/2023, NCDOT would like to extend the riprap along the stream bank 11 linear feet at the outlet of Culvert 1 (-L- Sta. 22+11). The existing rock extending from the culvert’s wing wall in this vicinity (see attached photo) was permitted as fill in wetlands. Therefore, by extending the rock, we will be changing existing mechanized clearing (wetland) impacts to fill impacts. Please see the attached permit drawing showing the approximate location of the additional riprap along the stream. The additional rock will be within the permanent drainage easement. I calculate the additional fill to be 66 square feet or 0.0015 acre. We intend to construct this as a field adjustment. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need additional information.
