WHAT CAN YOU DO?

trash.
GREASE
titlsttir
1111 FAT OIL GREASE
Grease is a real "pain in the drain" because it's a
major cause of problems we rind in sewer lines.
Blockages occur when grease (things like oil, butter,
margarine, shortening, pan drippings, and sauces) is
poured down the drain. Grease can clog sewer lines.
Clogged sewer lines lead to sewer spills, which are
messy, bad for the environment, and can be expen-
sive. The Town does everything it can to prevent
sewer spills, but we can't do it alone. WE NEED
YOUR HELP!
Grease disposal can be a major problem for restau-
rants, and we ask that you pay particular attention to
your disposal methods. Here are some tips to help
"cease the grease" —
I Clean out your grease interceptor/trap on a regular
basis by having it pumped by an approved
grease and oil removal company. If needed, in-
crease the pumping frequency to avoid build-up.
I Dispose of all used fryer/griddle oils in an approved
oil- recycling bin.
I Remove excess oil from pots and pans with a disposa-
ble towel and throw away the towel in a
trashcan.
We appreciate your cooperation in following these
guidelines. Together, we can protect our sewer sys-
tem and the environment. For more information,
please visit www.vadkinville.or¢ or call (336) 679-
2990.
