Dear Dr. Thorpe:
This letter is in response to the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) letter dated May 14, 2012 regarding the
Roanol<e Island Visitor Center Mitigation Site in Dare County.
The N.C. Division of Coastal Management (DCM) has reviewed the annua] monitoring reports prepared by NCDOT.
DCM also attended a site visit on April 18, 2012 with NCDOT and other agencies. Based upon this review, DCM agrees
that no further monitoring is required and that the site may be officially closed.
