the year 2022.

General program information:

• The plant's permit, NC003450 expired on January 31, 2023 and the permit
renewal application was received by the state on January 13, 2023. The
application was late due to the engineer not returning it to us in a timely
manner.
• Our HWA was submitted on January 8, 2021 and it is waiting to be
reviewed. We are over allocated for silver and that will need to be
addressed once the HWA is reviewed.
• There are changes that need to be made to the Pretreatment Program Info
that was provided by the Municipal Unit. Contact info for the new town
manager is marked on the info sheet along with the adoption date for the
SUO.
• Wallace Regional WWTP accepts flow from the satellite communities of
Burgaw, Greenevers, Teachey and Pender County. The Town of Burgaw has
their own separate pretreatment program and has submitted a separate
PAR. The other towns currently have no SIU's.
Industrial Users
• Burgaw has 2 SIU's, American Skins and Cardinal Foods; and 1 CIU, LL
Building. Please refer to Burgaw's PAR for information on their users.
• Burgaw was notified in October 2022 that they are now classified as an SIU
and given a permit application. They are currently gathering testing data.
They requested an extension to the January 2023 application deadline and
now have until April 2023 to return the permit.
• Wallace has one permitted industry- Darling Ingredients, Inc formally
known as Valley Protein, Rose Hill Division. This is a pump and haul permit
to cover flow they need to send to us while they are constructing the sewer
connection to the WWTP.
• Darling Ingredients was inspected once but not sampled by the POTW
because they have not sent any flow since receiving their permit.
