Dear Mr. Harris:
This letter is in response to the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) letter dated May l, 2012 regarding tne US
17 Windsor Bypass Temporary Impact Sites #14 and IP #1 in Bertie County.
Condition No. 27 of the amended CAMA Permit No. 5-06 which was issued on Februaiy 16, 2006, requires that the
temporary impact area at Site 14 shall be graded to original contours and reforested. Condition No. 29 of the same permit
requires that NCDOT conduct monitoring to enstu�e.that t11e wetland areas temporarily im}�acted by this project re-attain
jurisdictional wetland s±atus. The N.C. Division of Coastal Management (DCM) has reviewed the annual monitoring
reports pre�ared by NCDOT. DCM also attended an interagency site visit on April ] 8, 2012 �vith NCDOT, the U.S.
Army Cotps of Engineers (USACE), and the N.C. Division of Water Q�.iality (DWQ). Based upcn this review, DCM
a�rees that no further monitoring is required and that the site may be of�cially closed.
