I. INTRODUCTION:
This laboratory was inspected to verify its compliance with the requirements of 15A NCAC 2H .0800 for
the analysis of environmental samples.
II. GENERAL COMMENTS:
The laboratory has all the equipment necessary to perform the analyses. The system for traceability of
standard and reagent preparation is effective, thorough and easy to follow. Laboratory personnel communicate
well with sample collectors and coordinate sample analyses effectively to manage workload and holding times.
All Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been reviewed and the new revision dates are documented.
All benchsheets are currently being revised and updated with proper Standard Methods editions and with any
method changes being implemented.
The inspector would especially like to thank laboratory personnel for their efforts in providing technical
assistance (TA) to other Field Parameter certified facilities. This laboratory provides assistance in the
preparation of standards for the annual calibration verification of Total Residual Chlorine and the temperature
sensor and automatic temperature compensator verifications for pH and conductivity meters, as appropriate.
This spirit of cooperation benefits everyone in the North Carolina laboratory community.
