Dear Mr. Brewer:
A review has been conducted of the Water Quality Utilities' self -reported Sanitary Sewer Overflows for The
Ponds for September, 2015. This review has shown Water Quality Utilities to be in violation of the
requirements found in collection system permit WQCSD0235 and/or NC General Statute 143-215.1(a)(1), The
violation(s) that occurred are summarized below:

Remedial actions, if not already implemented, should be taken to correct the above noncompliance
problem(s). Please note that the Division of Water Resources (DWR) began assessing civil penalties for
severe and/or repeat SSOs on December 1, 2007. Enforcement decisions are based on volume spilled,
volume reaching surface waters, duration, gravity, impacts to public health, fish kills, and other factors.
This office is considering sending a recommendation for enforcement to the Director of the Division of
Water Resources for the incident(s) specified above. Your response to this correspondence will be
noncompliance, remedial actions, and all other actions taken to prevent the recurrence of similar
situations.
