Section 2 Facility Details
Brief Description of the types of industrial activities and products produced at this facility:
Concrete batching operations. A unique element is that this facility will be a portable, temporary
concrete production facility. Truck washdown (exterior rinse) will be performed minimally as needed on
the designated site area. The washout basin will have a plastic lined elevated berm that is pumped out
on an as needed basis. Truck wash -out- (drum flushing) that occurs at the end of the day (delivery day)
will be performed where the trucks originate, at our facilities in Roxboro NC or South Boston VA.
The only water on the designated concrete production area is expected to flow laminarly across the yard
and evaporate. During periods of dry weather, aggregate material is sprinkled with clean water to
maintain consistent moisture and minimize fugitive dust. Since clean water will permeate clean stone, it
poses little to no risk to process water and evaporates before runoff occurs. The only water accruing in
the nearby basin is expected to be from storm events on the overall site only.
Section 4 — Industrial Activities that drain to this outfall
There are no defined outfalls within the Chandler Concrete production area. There may be minimal
process residue on site. Process water from the aggregate areas leaves the perimeter via sheet flow. Spray
from washdown may leave the perimeter and sheet flow approximately 40 feet wide where it evaporates
and/commingles with rainwater on site with zero percent permeability as a result of being on compacted
grade.
Section 6 Wastewater Treatment Alternatives
The waste -water treatment plant will accept the wastewater. It is not feasible to connect.
a. Explanation- Although technically feasible, impractical since the process wastewater is
minimal and discharge is only likely generated during a heavy storm event as it contacts
aggregate materials or minimal amounts of runoff due to aggregate stockpile watering.
ii) Surface or subsurface disposal is not technologically feasible.
a. Not feasible due to impracticality of necessity of such a system. Financially prohibitive
for a portable plant that is expected to be a non -discharge facility.
iii) Surface of subsurface disposal system is not feasible to implement.

iv) What is the feasibility of employing a subsurface or surface discharge as compared to a
direct discharge to surface waters?
a. Discharge to surface waters is the most environmentally sound alternative of all
reasonable cost-effective options of the waters being considered.
