Page 7 of 7 Additional Documents for Stormwater Permit NO] Chandler Concrete Company Inc. Wolf Speed Portable Plant Section 2 Facility Details Brief Description of the types of industrial activities and products produced at this facility: Concrete batching operations. A unique element is that this facility will be a portable, temporary concrete production facility. Truck washdown (exterior rinse) will be performed in a large washdown basin/pit located at the northeastern corner of the property on as needed basin. The basin will have an elevated berm around the back slope with a silt fence to reduce the risk of discharge. Truck wash -out - (drum flushing) that occurs at the end of the day (delivery day) will be performed where the trucks originate; at our facilities in Asheboro or Siler City. Additional Washout Bins will be readily available on site should a truck need to rinse their drum out between loads. Although uncommon, it must happen in cases where dyed concrete or residue from specialty mixes needs to be cleansed before the truck can be loaded again. These washout bins will virtually eliminate all process water on site. The only water on the designated concrete production area is expected to flow laminarly across the yard and evaporate. During periods of dry weather, aggregate material is sprinkled with clean water to maintain consistent moisture and minimize fugitive dust. Since clean water will permeate clean stone, it poses little to no risk to process water and evaporates before runoff occurs. The only water accruing in the nearby basin is expected to be from storm events only. Section 4 — Industrial Activities that drain to this outfall Outfall 001 is expected to only receive stormwater. The grading of the property, perimeter ditches, and culvert locations channel stormwater to the western basin of the portable plant site. Section 6 Wastewater Treatment Alternatives The waste -water treatment plant will accept the wastewater. It is not feasible to connect. a. Explanation- Although technically feasible, impractical since the process wastewater is minimal and discharge is only likely generated during a heavy storm event as it contacts aggregate materials or minimal amounts of runoff due to aggregate stockpile watering. The batch office facilities will be connected to mainline sewer system. ii) Surface or subsurface disposal is not technologically feasible. a. Not feasible due to impracticality of necessity of such a system. Financially prohibitive for a plant that is expected to be a non -discharge facility except in the event of prolonged, voluminous, storms. iii) Surface of subsurface disposal system is not feasible to implement a. Not feasible due to impracticality of necessity of such a system. Financially prohibitive for a plant that is expected to be a non -discharge facility except in the event of prolonged, voluminous, storms. iv) What is the feasibility of employing a subsurface or surface discharge as compared to a direct discharge to surface waters? a. SANDSTORM is the Ready Mix industry's original heavy-duty concrete disolver. SANDSTORM is a liquid compound specifically formulated to remove built-up concrete from equipment associated with the Ready Mix industry. SANDSTORM attacks concrete at the molecular level and returns it to mud without the use of harsh acids. SANDSTORM does not contain any Muriatic Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Sulphuric Acid, or Hydrofluoric Acid. SANDSTORM's active ingredient occurs naturally and is most often found in sugar cane syrup. SANDSTORM is 100% Biodegradable, Non - Corrosive, Non -Regulated, and a Non -Skin Irritant. MANUFACTURING AND DISTRIBUTION OF SANDSTORM Manufactured solely by Power Keen Corporation, SANDSTORM has long been the standard in the industry for heavy-duty concrete removal. SANDSTORM can be delivered from one of our many distribution centers across the nation, which will save you both shipping time and shipping dollars. SANDSTORM USE SANDSTORM can be used as a heavy-duty concrete dissolver without any neutralization. SANDSTORM can be used to remove heavy build-up of concrete in twenty minutes or less. The action of SANDSTORM not only removes concrete but also removes old rust and oxides during the cleaning process. Use on problem areas such as hopper areas, back rings, chutes, and pedestals. SANDSTORM is so safe, it can be used on any surface, including glass, aluminum, chrome, rubber, plastic, or paint.
