Director .,~ Division of Water Quality February 16, 2006 DWQ Project # OS-2231 Wake County CERTIFIED MAIL: RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED Mr. Mark Farrell Pulte Homes, Inc. 801 Corporate Center Drive, Suite 118 Raleigh, NC 27607 Subject Property: Glenwood Crossing Potts Branch [030402, B, NSW] REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION Dear Mr. Farrell: On December 19, 2005, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated December 14, 2005, to impact 145 linear feet of stream and 25,080 square feet of protected Neuse River basin riparian buffer to construct the proposed residential subdivision and road. On February 13, 2006, the DWQ received a revised application dated February 13, 2006, to impact 130 linear feet of stream and 12,176 square feet of protected Neuse River basin riparian buffer to construct the proposed residential subdivision and road. On February 13, 2006, representatives from the DWQ met representatives from Froehling & Robertson to discuss the project. Based on this meeting, the DWQ determined that your application remains incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive the additional information requested below, we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506 and will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project. Additional Information Requested: 1. The proposed on-site stormwater BMP will need to be re-engineered as a constructed wetland, and as discussed at the meeting, discharge velocities from the constructed wetland should be attenuated so as not to negatively impact the stream bank stability. 2. The proposed stream impact will be re-evaluated to determine if armoring of the stream bank at that location or possible relocating of the stream would be better options for this crossing.
