At that time, we discussed meeting onsite to further evaluate the nature of the area in which the Fish Pond had been proposed, or alternately relocating the proposed Fish Pond to the northwest portion of the Lot, to the west of the north -south ditch that is located near the centerline of the Lot. With reference to the latter possibility, you indicated that you saw no reason to be concerned over impacts to wetlands, and would be able to complete your agency's comments in rather short order, so that the CAMA Permit Application could be processed. I had indicated that I would need to speak with my clients to determine whether they were amenable to such relocation. I have since been able to speak with them, and being reluctant to relocate the Fish Pond to that area, they have chosen to remove their request for a Fish Pond in its entirety from their application. They now plan to obtain backfill for their bulkhead project from an offsite source, and from the uplands that lie adjacent to the existing erosion escarpment. I trust that you will find this alternative equally unobjectionable. I have revised the relevant submittals of the CAMA application to reflect their wishes, and am submitting a revised application to the NC Division of Coastal Management. I am providing a copy of those revised submittals to you as enclosures to this letter. Upon your satisfactory review of the enclosures, we respectfully request that you indicate to the NC Division of Coastal Management that, from the perspective of the Division of Water Resources, the hold on the processing of the application can be removed. If you require any additional information, submittals, or clarification, please contact me so I can expeditiously address any concerns.
